I taught Art for 28 years, specialising in painting and drawing, but with a strong interest in art history and ceramic design. Like our established painting and drawing holidays in the French Alps, there are abundant creative opportunities for painting holidays in the Algarve, especially during the spring from February until March and autumn from October to November.

If it is white washed fishing villages, old boats or colourful street markets which inspire you, you will find a wealth of subject matter in a landscape where time has stood still and people still follow the traditional Portuguese way of life. The textures, colours and pure light of the Western Algarve offer amazing artistic opportunities in this corner of Portugal.

Your stay can either be purely art based, or integrated with other pursuits. Non-painting partners can undertake an array of alternative activities and sightseeing opportunities, which can easily be incorporated whilst the artists produce their masterpiece!
