LAND ACTIVITIES
Golf
The Algarve is world-renowned for its great courses, playable all year
because of the fine, temperate weather. Whether you fancy the occasional
round whilst on a family holiday or a full golfing break, several prestigious
golf courses are within a short distance of Salema. Parque da Floresta
is only 5-minutes drive from the villa. Within 20-minutes drive are the
4 fantastic golf courses of Boavista, Palmares, Alto and Penina, with another
20+ courses in reach within an hour.

Walking
We are passionate walkers ourselves and have found some amazing routes
and trails throughout the Natural Park that surrounds Salema and the
Monchique hills and forests beyond. There are some lovely walks direct
from Salema towards Sagres in the west and Lagos in the east, where
you will discover ancient monuments and hidden beaches.
We work closely with Dr Julie Stratham, who has written a number of
books on walking in the Algarve. She is available for half and full day
guided walks and is an expert on Algarve flowers, history, geography
and culture. Using local experts and guides, we can also offer walks
with special interest themes such as birds, flora, butterflies and insects.

Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is very popular on the Western Algarve and one of the
best ways to discover the wild Costa Vincentina Natural Park. Whether
riding independently or as part of an organised group, guided tours
can be arranged for all ages, abilities and personal preferences. From
gentle ‘downhill all the way’ paths to more challenging
cliff top and coastal trails, we can organise the outing to meet your
requirements. Guided rides include all equipment, transport and local
guide.

Horse riding
Explore the Western Algarve on
horseback at Tiffany’s, one the top
riding centres in the area. They have over fifteen years of experience
in giving children, complete beginners and competent riders alike a day
to enjoy and remember. Rides into the surrounding countryside can vary
from simple one-hour rides, right up to a full day’s expedition.
Terrain and scenery can embrace exploration of the coast and countryside,
riding along ravaged cliff tops, wandering through quiet valleys, or galloping
up forested hills.
